OUR STORY!!!
We started this C’est Fou Cajun Stuff out when the owner, my husband, “Cowboy” Brandon Cormier, went to the monster truck show in Lafayette and saw some ole’ boys racing some lawnmowers. Yep, I said Lawnmowers…. He came home one day after work and said, “honey, I have a new hobby for us” .. we’re going to race lawnmowers… I told him he was CRAZY! He said “No, that’s C’est Fou” .
We found the perfect one, a pretty lil’ BP mowin’ machine. But now we needed a name for it! We named it MoBetta. And then on to racing numbers, he chose his son Parkers birthdate #723 and then the C’est Fou Cajun Racing Team was born!( this means THAT’s a CRAZY Cajun Racing Team). After awhile we had the name trademarked, and drew up the logo... which consists of a little Cajun man wearing a straw hat and a feather with a big moustache and sunglasses! If you look real close, it resembles Cowboy himself. He’s been drawing this logo on everything he owned since high school. This logo and our trademark name C’est Fou Cajun Racing Team was put on all the lawnmowers... yes, I said ALL.. by this time we owned 3 of them .. one to race in each class, plus they are building Parker one to race... he will be #723jr.
Anyway, as the story goes on, we like to cook a lot for friends and family, especially BBQing . One day, Cowboy made a BBQ rub to put on his briskets... it was on from there. We started in the kitchen, playing with various recipes, tweaking, adding this, and that... until we got what we thought was the perfect blend for a BBQ rub. Since I’am from Texas and Cowboy is from Louisiana we figured we needed to make something that fit both of our tastes and attitudes... something a little sweet and a little spicy! Our first run of the blend was packaged out of state, because it was made with all natural, freshly ground spices. But soon after we got that batch, we decided to provide a 100% Certified Cajun product to our customers... and started blending everything right in Louisiana!
With a Coonass and a Texas girl in the kitchen, we had to come up with something unique to suit our different tastes, while keeping with the heritage of CAJUN cooking. A lot of your Cajun seasoning is known for its cayenne heat… we wanted to offer a milder blend, something that brings out the flavor of the meat or vegetable, so that you taste the spice food first, and get the heat in the end.
Most important to both of us, was the salt content... We wanted a lower sodium product to help meet our health needs as well as our neighbors, friends and family... our product is ONE of the lowest on the market today at 135mg of sodium.
We have created one of the best blends of Garlic Butter that you will ever taste.. Keeping with Cajun traditions of garlic, garlic, garlic... we developed the C’est Fou Cajun Gar’lick Butta Try it on porkchops, chicken, ribs, toast, vegetables.. !!! Oh did I mention coating cut red potatoes and broiling them in the oven.. OHHH DAT GOOD!!!
Well, that is our story so far… we are starting out and hoping to build C’est Fou Cajun Stuff website, offering new items and seasonings often, and hope that one day soon you will recognize Cowboy’s Crazy Cajun man logo and associate it with the best seasoning you ever ate!! PS for those interested Cowboy won 2008 Cajun Mower Racing Association State of Louisiana Champion in the CP class, and placed 2nd in the state in the SP class AND was named Rookie of the Year, and we’re looking forward to a successful racing season this year.
